J. Michaels Tuscan Steakhouse is a new restaurant housed in a beautifully restored 19th Century home in historic Northport. The distinctive ambiance of our landmark location is the perfect place to enjoy select fine wines and spirits, and our award winning signature dishes. Our vision emphasizes "Old World Charm, meets New World Dining".

Jay Kaufman
Jay Kaufman
President, VJ 98 Restaurant Group
Jay Kaufman is a graduate of Culinary Institute of America. He is also well known in the community for the many successful restaurants, night clubs, and bar lounges he owned over the last 27 years. His passion for the industry is second to none. His experience and caring for the J. Michaels team members has naturally positioned him into the mentor roll for this latest project.
Anthony Fausto
Anthony M. Fausto
VP of Operations
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Anthony brings to J. Michaels his 27 years in the Restaurant/Hospitality industry. Following his heart and passion for food, his career started in S. Florida where he obtained his B.S. in Hospitality Management from the Florida Atlantic University. Still southbound he worked for 3 years with Vacation Break, USA as the Asst. Banquet / Restaurant Manager then another 3 years as the Corporate Asst. F& B Director. El Caribe in his hometown Brooklyn called him to be their Asst. G.M. for 7 years . It was his Captains position at Il Cortile where our own Chef Vincent swept up Tony and has been with the company since its inception in November, 2011. His quick wit, sense of humor and the specialty, Training Captain Management in Tableside Garden Service makes him a rare find and asset to the J. Michaels team.

Maître D’hôtel

With over 25 years in the Restaurant/Hospitality Industry, Ben brings to J. Michaels his outstanding track record working with some of the top restaurateurs on Long Island. Obtaining his Associates Degree in Restaurant Management from Nassau Community College, Ben’s career took off with flying colors gaining experience in both front and back of the house. Serving as a Captain of the Europa Supper Club and the Fox Hollows Rose and Hunt Room for the Scotto Brothers, in addition to working as Captain/Manager for Tom Schaudels’ Cool Fish is where he obtained his utmost attention to detail in dining room management. Working in the kitchen and opening restaurants with our own Chef Vincent Michaels has made him a well-rounded addition to the J. Michaels Management team.
